Vacation: Blizzard Beach, Disney, Florida
Blizzard Beach is a water park located in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida. The theme of this park has a story behind it. The story goes that a huge freak blizzard hit Florida and overnight a ski resort popped up with slalom, tobogganing, and iceberg walkways. When the weather quickly warmed back up again and the resort started to melt, it was turned into a water park – thus the winter theme. Last year, this was actually the second most visited water park in the entire world!
They have quite a few water rides at the park including a lazy river called “Cross Country Creek”, the “Downhill Double Dipper” (a water slide race), a one-acre wave pool, “Runoff Rapids” (set of 3 unique water slides), “Slush Gusher” (90-foot tall water slide), “Snow Stormers” (3 slalom-style racing water slides), “Summit Plummet” (water slide with 12-story drop), “Teamboat Springs” (family raft ride down a river), and “Toboggan Racers” (8 riders in a water slide race).
There are activities just for kids also. This includes “Tikes Peak” which has a snow-castle fountain, pop-up water jets, and kid-sized slides. There is also “Ski Patrol Training Camp” for slightly older kids that has smaller water slides, inner-tube slides, an ice-flow walk across the water, a zip line, and other fun activities.
Need a break? There are lots of food options on site. There are several quick-service restaurants, a mini-donut stand, an outdoor pool bar, and snack stands. They also have a couple of stores on site for purchasing things like jewelry, souvenirs, swimwear, etc.
So, if you like water parks, this is unique experience with a fun story behind it!

Looks like a blast, I really like water parks. I did go more often but my kids are to small right now. I can’t wait for the day when they are big enough to go. Thanks for the post.
