Still looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right? Or perhaps you don’t have anyone in particular to go on vacations with? Then give a singles cruise a try. I’ve been on one of these myself and they are a lot of fun. I used a company called “SinglesCruise.com”. They are the largest singles cruise operator in the US and launch cruises from all over the place, including the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, Mexican Riviera, Galapagos Island, and more. Some spend more time at sea and some spend more time stopping in various locations for excursions. It all depends on your preference. They tend to mostly use Carnival Cruise lines, which makes sense – they are the “Fun Ship”, after all! They have professional cruise directors who go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a good time. People go on these cruises for all kinds of different reasons – just meet new people, have a good time being part of large groups, or trying to find a romantic companion.

Here’s the scoop. They will typically book a certain number of spots on a regular cruise ship. So, there are certainly people on the cruise who have nothing to do with the singles group. The cruise directors will plan the entire trip, creating optional events for everyone to get together. Some examples of these events are karaoke, mixers, speed meeting, games, deck parties, private cocktail parties, poolside activities, cabin crawls, and excursions. You have as much freedom as you want to attend these activities or not. These events are open only to the singles group. At dinner time, everyone in the singles group sits together. This gives you the opportunity to meet additional people. You are also assigned a roommate during your stay. They do their best to match people together based upon gender and age. I got along great with my roommate! Of course, you always have the option to get your own room, but the price of the trip will be higher. They even provide some pre-cruise meet-and-greet activities such as a message board and dinner party.

This is a great, affordable vacation if you just want to get away by yourself and meet new people. Most people tend to be a bit timid or skeptical of singles vacations. But, I’ve gotta tell ya, there is no pressure at all and you’d be amazed how much fun you can have on a trip like this! You just need to go into it with no expectations and your only goal should be to have fun!
